Ariston: Inside The Machine Project

There is an old Greek joke about a kid who put his hands in front of his face facing the opposite way, move his head around and say, "mom, get me out of the washing machine".

Well, Ariston launched a new range of washing machines and decided to do just that. To get people inside a washing machine and experience all the phases of a washing.

“The Inside the Machine Project” is a really big installation. The numbers are impressive: 12m high, 5 tonnes of metal, 3 tonnes of wood, 450 square metres of light refracting materials and water sprinklers.

More than 10.000 people went inside the giant drum.

Schirm&Co: Rainvertising

That's a cool low budget idea.

An umbrella store in Humburg wanted to create traffic, but they had a tiny 130 Euro budget. So they sprayed a bus stop with an invisible water repellent stencil thus getting the message across the right time; when it's raining.

Heineken: The perfect Date

Enjoy Heineken's new TV commercial. It is the sequel of "The Entrance" we saw back in January and it shares the same lively tone. It is shot in London at Le Meridien Hotel and the Rivoli Ballroom. What's great is the song “Jaan Pehechaan Ho” from the 1965 movie Gumnaa.

And, there is something else, a really funny making of. Watch it after the spot.

Infographic: The Value of Social Commerce

Infographic: The Real Cost Of Social Media

All major companies are going social. They have Facebook pages, twitter accounts, they run social media campaigns, they try to reach potential customers and built loyalty.

But what is the real cost of social media?

Focus made this very interesting infographic to address this question.

It begins with the following statement. “With social media at the height of its popularity, advertisers and companies find it an easy and trendy means of expanding their marketing horizons. While many companies may be fooled by the free cost to open a social media account, many fail to consider the expenses that go into running a social media campaign. Do the benefits really outweigh the costs?”What are the benefits and what are the cost of a serious social media campaign?

It seems that social media is not a free ride. It's quite an expensive one. But there are rewards. And if you are serious about your brand then, according to the infographic, you should invest. Then again, you may not. Give it a good read and decide.

Fiat Street Evo: iPhone app

A small budget is not a problem. Lack of ideas is the problem. Leo Burnett Madrid, had a very clever idea for the promotion of the new Fiat Punto Evo. The target group was the tech savy generation so they made an iPhone app that treats road signs like QR Codes. People used the app to capture the signs and get relative  information on the features of the Punto Evo like the park assist from a parking sign or the breaking system from a stop sign.

To make the game more fun and appealing, hundreds of signs had hidden prizes and the first who discovered them, won the prize.

Great weather is an essential part of your vacations. Especially if you live in a country with harsh winter like Germany. But what if this harsh winter gave you the opportunity to win a dream vacation?

TUI, one of the biggest tourism firms in Germany, launched last winter the “Bad Weather Vacation”: the very first bad weather competition! A mobile app tracked your position and your current weather conditions by connecting to weather stations. You had to check-in your weather conditions and the worse they were, the better your score. After a month, the person experiencing the worst weather in Germany won a great holiday in the Dominican Republic.
