Jesus and His Marketing Stunts in a great self promo

Advertising stunts have gone from obscure operations to mainstream media. Clicks and shares are now conventional media measures. Stunts are harder to write, shoot, manage, produce and edit than traditional 30 second television spots.

To showcase its unique production and post-production offerings, 1one created a promotional video in partnership with integrated advertising agency lg2 that gives viewers a seat at an iconic brand planning session led by the most famous advertising client of all time, Jesus. The table talk fictitiously reveals how 1One helped the Messiah top his previous branded efforts — no small task when you’re trying to outdo giving sight to the blind or turning water into wine.

“With the evolution of media, and the viewer becoming more intelligent (and cynical) towards traditional advertising, we need to create stunts that can't look like anything short of amazing,” says Jean-René Parenteau, executive producer and associate, 1one. “When it comes to doing that, you want an expert, not someone who's just hoping they can pull it off. This has been our focus for the past five years. Stunts aren't a new trend for us. It's what we've always done and focused our expertise towards.”

The seven kingdoms in the Game of Thrones opening sequence are reimagined as social networks in this fantastic animated clip from HootSuite. The social networks were not placed randomly but based to the unique characteristics of each kingdom. Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Google, Google+, YouTube, Twitter, Snapchat and LinkedIn battle in the Game of Social Thrones!

Pause, a Stockholm based high-end hifi store developed a business card that transforms into a battery-free speaker for smartphones, delivering a 17% increase in volume. Pause promise is that they can create customized sound systems for every wallet. This card delivers the message literally.

Funny facts about Canadian advertising professional but I am sure they could be universal. OK let's start with the basic fact. We drink. All of us. In Canada, people who work in advertising drink 9 times as much bourbon as the average Canadian. And 49.1% drink wine weekly. They also watch porn 1.7 times more than the average Canadian, they also mute the sound in TV commercials 1.6 times more.

TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris: We Sent Their Briefs Back

Clients briefs tranformed into art in this nice self promo idea from TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris in Johannesburg. In order to promote their design department they took the actual ATL briefs and used them as a canvas. They conceptualized various designs that captured the essence of the brands, then brought them to life using only the cardboard job bags and the briefs that were attached to them. They created intricate pieces of paper art, transforming their client's briefs into multi-dimensional design pieces and sent them to their clients. Results: new design work rose by 450% within the first 6 weeks.

Advertising work. A Love/Hate story

Δουλειά στη διαφήμιση. Είτε την αγαπάς, είτε τη μισείς. Οι λόγοι για να τη μισήσεις, ειδικά στην Ελλάδα, είναι πολλοί περισσότεροι από τους λόγους που θα σε κάνουν να την αγαπήσεις. Άραγε, παραμένει κάτι ζωντανό σε αυτόν το χώρο για να σε μαγέψει; Υπάρχουν στιγμές που μπορούν να σε ταξιδέψουν; Να σου θυμίσουν πώς πρέπει να γίνεται η επικοινωνία; Και από την άλλη, πόσοι ειλικρινά αγαπάνε ακόμα αυτή τη δουλειά; Με ποιο όραμα ξεκίνησαν και που βρίσκονται τώρα; Το υπηρετούν; Συμβιβάστηκαν; Κοροϊδεύουν τους εαυτούς τους σε μια ατέρμονη προσπάθεια να κοροϊδέψουν τους άλλους; Βλέπουν έξω από τον μικρόκοσμό τους όπου βραβεύει ο ένας τον άλλο για δουλειές που ούτε καν θα έβαζαν στο book τους αν εβγαίναν εκτός συνόρων; Κι όμως υπάρχουν διαφημιστές που βλέπουν. Που θέλουν ως άλλοι Tony Montana να πάρουν ένα Μ16 με grenade launcher και να πουν "Say hello to my little friend" σε όσους κατάντησαν έτσι το χώρο. Συνάδελφοι, σε διάφορες εταιρίες που πραγματικά αγαπάνε τη δουλειά τους. Που δεν συμβιβάστηκαν. Που βρίσκουν εύκολη τη λύση, να πουν, ότι δεν υπάρχει τίποτα και να συνεχίσουν να πορεύονται μέσα στο σύστημα. Που εξακολουθούν να βρίσκουν γύρω μας ενέργειες που έχουν κάτι να πουν. Λίγες. Που όμως υπάρχουν. Που προσπαθούν να προσθέσουν και νέες. Που πιστεύουν όπως και εγώ ότι, διάολε, πρέπει να είναι ωραίο το ταξίδι στη διαφήμιση.

Η ταινία αυτή παίχτηκε στις 4/11 στο άνοιγμα των βραβείων Advertising & Design Club of Canada (ADCC) 2010 Awards

Vince for Eminem's Recovery

Αυτό το Σ/Κ ο Eminem βγάζει το 7ο του άλμπουμ. Για να το προωθήσει online βρήκε αυτόν τον τύπο (Vince the Slap Chopper, γνωστός στο internet) και έφτιαξε ένα γαμάτο infomercial. Καταπληκτική προώθηση νομίζω (όπως και του Ozzy -δείτε εδώ).
