TFO Canada: The Living Piano

A piano you can walk on and opera singers to sing accordingly. This is a unique instrument and a beautiful way to bring opera to the people. During the Festival d'Opéra de Québec, TFO made an interactive and never-seen-before instrument. People where invited to walk on a 12-note Living Piano, featuring opera singers who elegantly belt out their corresponding notes as the different keys where played.

Volvo Trucks: The Hamster Stunt

Volvo Trucks does it again. This time a hamster is steering a 15-tonne Volvo FMX construction truck at Los Tres Cunados in northwestern Spain, a place famous for its challenging conditions.

A precision driver holds a carrot and as Charlie, the little hamster, is chasing it he is steering the truck and proves that Volvo's latest steering system is very easy to handle.

15 Facebook amazing statistics

With 1,15 million users and counting, you come to expect that every Facebook number will be huge but still the stats are too impressive. The following infographic by Dashburst presents 15 amazing facts, like the staggering 240 billion total uploaded photos and the 350 million photos uploaded each day. A company with $5,09 billion revenue in 2012 has only 4.619 employees. That is impressive.

Chipotle: The Scarecrow

Chipotle returns with a new short film against the evil Crow Food which represents the food industry. Wonderful animation, lovable character, great music by Fiona Apple who covers ("Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory's") "Pure Imagination".

Following Cannes Grand Prix awarded "Back to the start", this new short film, follows a sracecrow in a big scary city dominated by the mass production food factories. Chickens being injected, food with beef-ish labels, cows milked inside metal machines, makes this world crying for help which screcrow addresses with fresh food.

Nike Presents: Just Do It - Possibilities

This is top-notch advertising. "Just Do It" turned 25 years old in July and Nike celebrates it with an awesome spot urging you to push your limits. The cinematography is fast-paced, the spot flows from one sport scenario to another perfectly, the voice over of Bradley Cooper is fresh and passionate. The film features LeBron James, Serena Williams, Gerard Pique, Andre Ward and actor Chris Pine.

"We're all capable of a little more -- a little faster, a little higher, a little stronger, a little more. And when we look at all of the little things we've done, we'll see the big things we're doing."

Android KITKAT 4.4: The future of confectionery

Each Android version is named after a dessert and in alphabetically order. So, from Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean, it was time for K and what's more suitable than a favorite worldwide chocolate like Kitkat. According to adage no money changed hands.

A parody video -making fun at Apple-like dramatic debut videos- was made to introduce the new Android KitKat 4.4 along with a revamped version of KitKat site and an Android microsite that you should check out:

Take 3: Recycle a tweet - The worlds first recyclable and refundable tweet‏

8 billion bottles and cans trash Australian beaches, rivers and ocean each year, killing precious wildlife and marine life.

In an attempt to convince Barry O'Farrel, the Premier of New South Wales, to implement a Cash for Containers scheme (Recycling deposits), Take 3 created the world's first recyclable and refundable tweet.

Though recycling deposit refunds has been a proven solution around the world, in Australia it is still facing strong opposition from beverage companies.

A national scheme for Australia will soon be under review with the key decision maker being Premier Barry O’Farrell. Take 3 needed to prove the recycling power of a ‘Cash for Containers’ scheme whilst calling on Barry O’Farrell to make the needed change.

So they created the world’s first recyclable and refundable tweet. A tweet calling on Barry O’Farrell to implement the Cash for Containers scheme and encouraging the public to recycle the tweet by re-tweeting it.

Every re-tweet can be refunded the same deposit amount as a standard beverage container, one shiny Australian 10 cent piece.

Support the call for a Cash for Containers  scheme by recycling our tweet at recycleatweet.com.

Ray-Ban: #nofilterjustrayban

Last day of summer but I'm posting about a cool idea DDB Brussels had for Ray-Ban sunglasses to keep it going for a little longer (well, in Greece, the weather is like summer almost year round).

So, DDB tranformed trams in all major Belgian cities into "Ray-Ban Test-Drive Trams" by pasting filters on the windows and letting people discover the city through different Ray-Ban color lenses thus promoting the wide range of Ray-Ban's polarized color lenses: from sky blue to hot pink.

To make it social, posters inside the tram invite travelers to share their pictures of the city with #nofilterjustrayban.

Peugeot 208: Holotransform

In auto shows you can see the car that you like but you can only imagine what it will look like if you wanted to add or change something. 5Seis developed an interactive hologram for the Peugeot 208 at 6th International Motor Show 2013 so that visitors could remotely customize the car as they pleased. They could change the color, apply stickers on roof, mirrors, doors, add spoiler and choose from variety of rims. They could even put some bicycle carriers on top, snowboards etc.

Intel and Toshiba: The Power Inside

The third social film experience from Intel & Toshiba is here. They started two year ago with "Inside Experience" and now with the "Power Inside" we deal with an alien invasion. It seems that extraterrestrial moustaches and unibrows take over the upper lips and eyes of people around the world.

Your face can join the Uricks (the aliens) or the Guardians. Just visit www.thepowerinside.com or www.Facebook.com/insidefilms to watch the trailer and audition to be in the film. To join the Urick team and potentially be featured in the film you have to upload a photo to the Facebook Page, and the facial recognition software will add a moustache or unibrow. You can also upload videos of yourself removing a moustache to join the Guardian team.

The Power Inside. A social film from Intel/Toshiba starring Harvey Keitel

Directed by Will Speck and Josh Gordon  (“Blades of Glory” and “The Switch”), the movie stars Harvey Keitel (“Reservoir Dogs”), Craig Roberts (“Submarine”), Analeigh Tipton (“Crazy, Stupid, Love”), Reid Ewing (“Modern Family”) and Zack Pearlman (“The Inbetweeners”).

The first episode of the social film will be available on August 15 and continue online over the next six weeks.

SIX inc: a New Creative Engagement Agency by Hakuhodo

Digital Agency Hakuhodo was the first-ever Japanese agency to be named “The Most Awarded Agency in Digital in the World” in The Gunn Report 2012.

SIX inc. was founded by six creative directors of Hakuhodo: Takashi Nozoe, Tsubasa Oyagi, Keiichi Motoyama, Taku Tsuboi, Jin Saito and Takayuki Hino.

Corporate logo design: StormStudios&Peter Curzon

Their vision is “to create a new bond between brand and users.” Each letter of “SIX” stands for their values towards creativity: S for “SYNC” to manifest synchronicity with the times; I for “IGNITE,” to give inspirations or stimulate emotions; and X for “EXPLORE,” to go on an endless journey to open new dimensions of communication. The name “SIX” is derived from various elements including the “small-world phenomenon,” the principle that any two individuals can be connected in a maximum of six steps; the “sixth sense,” the extrasensory perception that goes beyond the five senses; and the “six days of creation,” that God created the universe in six days.

We are all familiar with their incredile work. Just a few examples...

NSRI: Sea Fever

An ode to sea by the South African National Sea Resque Institute. Excellent production and a great voice over on John Masefield's poem, Sea Fever. If you love the sea you will definitely love this spot.

The poem:

I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by;
And the wheel’s kick and the wind’s song and the white sail’s shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea’s face, and a grey dawn breaking,
I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.
I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull’s way and the whale’s way where the wind’s like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover,
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick’s over.
