P&G Thank you, Mom: Tough Love

The world’s toughest moms, raise the world’s toughest kids. Wieden + Kennedy, Portland made another great spot in the P&G Thank you, Mom campaign. This time for the Paralympic Games. The comments of moms in the thank you mom facebook page show how moms appreciate this spot. They feel that P&G honors them.

"You could have protected me. You could have taken every hit. You could have turned the world upside down so that I would never feel pain. But you didn't. You gave me my freedom because you were strong. And now, so am I." The narration comes from the Paralympic snowboarder Amy Purdy.

DHL: Trojan Mailing

Guerilla marketing at its best. DHL made its rivals UPS, TNT and DPD advertise DHL's services. They hired the competition to deliver large black packages taped all over with thermoactive foil. When competitors went to deliver the packages, the heat worked its magic and the message DHL is faster appeared.

Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 mocks Apple's Pencil ad

I love the way Samsung mocks Apple products and fanboys. In case you don't remember check here and here. Now, Samsung takes Apple's Pencil ad that featured the iPad Air which is thinner than a pencil and compares it with the new Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 which is thinner that the iPad. The Galaxy Tab features a 2560-by-1600 at 299 ppi screen compared to the iPad Air’s 2048-by-1536 resolution at 264 ppi. It also has multitasking abilities.

Then, the mocking continue. Now it's iPhone's 4.0" non-HD turn to be humiliated by the 5.7'' HD Galaxy Note 3. We see the 2 phones side by side and LeBron James working his magic.

Terre des Hommes: Sweetie Case film

Webcam Child Sex Tourism (WCST) is spreading like an epidemic. Men from rich countries pay children in poor countries to perform sexual acts in front of webcams. While there are tens of thousands victims every day, there are only 6 convictions.

Lems, an Amsterdam based creative agency wanted to help so they teamed-up with Terre des Hommes Netherlands and they really helped. Not with an advertising campaign but with hard work that brought real results.

They developed "Sweetie", a 3D model that looked like a 10-year-old Filipino girl, interacted with over 20,000 predators, gathered incriminating evidence for 1,000 predators from 71 countries and urged goverments to act upon this. They managed to make Webcam Child Sex Tourism a globally recognized problem, make the Philippines national police consider it as the No1 crime, bring predators to justice and save children.

Excellent work from Lems.

Audi: When four rings is all you need (fake ad mocking Sochi)

Brilliant response from a Reddit user to the opening ceremony of Winter Olympics in Sochi where a snowflake malfuctioned thus leaving only four rings. A fake ad but a great viral for Audi.

Lisbon City Council: LX Type. The official font of Lisbon.

LX Type is the world's first typography made from tracing Lisbon's tram wires. Lisbon's trams are an iconic element of the city. Their wires that blends with the sky emerged the idea of creating a typography based on them. A very interesting project from Leo Burnett Lisboa with the support of the Lisbon City Council. You can test and download from lxtype.pt the fonts for free. You can also find out a place associated with each letter, transforming words in spontaneous and personalized guides of the city.

Bell’s Whisky: The Reader

Heartwarming! An elderly man who doesn't know how to read, picks up a book from a bookstore and he begins a journey from illiteracy to literacy. From learning the first letters of the alphabet to reading the entire book. A true man of character. He finally meets the author. The tagline, Give that man a Bell's, comes as a reward.

Stay in school or die horribly! This is what happens when you slack off.
This is not the usual public service announcement you'd expect. It's more like a splatter movie. And a big viral hit.

Kia K900: The Truth (Super Bowl 2014)

Laurence Fishburne returns to the role of Morpheus for Kia's Super Bowl commercial. He acts as a valet who ask a rich couple to make a choice between the luxury they know and a kind of luxury. There is a blue and a red key (remember the blue/red pills from Matrix?). "Take the blue key and go back to the luxury you know. You take the red key and you'll never look at luxury the same again."

They take the red key and while they drive Kia's K900 luxury sedan, Morpheus sings Nessum Dorma while cars explode!

Newcastle Brown Ale: The Teaser for the Trailer for Newcastle's Mega Huge Football Game Ad

I love the ingenuity of Droga5. He makes fun of Super Bowl teaser campaigns with this trailer for the Mega Huge Football Game Ad Newcastle Brown Ale would've made if they had a mega huge advertising budget.

Without having an ad in the Super Bowl he managed to top the list for teasers.

P&G Thank You Mom: Pick Them Back Up

The tribute to moms continues with the sequel of the awesome "Best Job" spot from P&G in 2012. Wieden + Kennedy made another great commercial for the "Thank You, Mom" campaign, this time for February's Sochi Winter Olympics. We see the mothers of Olympic athletes who were always picking their children back up, teaching them that falling makes you stronger, encourage them to try again and bringing them to glory.

NZ Transport Agency: Mistakes

Time froze. An inevitable crash. A simple mistake. The two drivers involved are talking about it but there is nothing they can do any more. Crash.

"No one should pay for a mistake with their life." Very dramatic and emotional spot from Clemenger BBDO Wwllington for the new Zealand Transport Agency based on the idea that when we drive, we share the road with others, so the speed we choose to travel at needs to leave room for any potential error.
